Just Peachy: Peach Tea Benefits

Peaches – those yellow-orange, fuzzy stone fruits that embody the very warmth of the last days of summer – have some pretty fantastic health boosters to boot. These simple and sweet beauties provide a host of positive perks like supporting skin radiance, balancing the nervous system, and soothing upset tummies.

Let’s check out some of these peach tea benefits together.

Just a quick disclaimer that I’m not a doctor and Plum Deluxe doesn’t claim that peach tea can cure specific disease. Please consult with your physician if you have medical questions or concerns.

Origin Story

Historical studies of peaches tell us that the fruit originated in the Far East and has been cultivated since neolithic times. They are believed to have arrived in Europe through Persia (modern day Iran), as its Latin name describes: Prunus persica.

Peach Leaf Tea Benefits

Take advantage of peach tea benefits by making an at-home cold brew peach tea using the leaves right off of a peach tree. This cooling concoction provides powerful potential health benefits such as reduced anxiety and irritability, and soothing overheatedness and tummy aches.

Simply take some cleaned peach tree leaves and place them in a jar, then cover with water and a seal with a lid. Let steep overnight or in the sun for the day and then treat yourself to this beneficial beverage.

If you have a local peach farm in your area, see if you can acquire a bit of the bark. The dried bark – made into a tea or tincture (soaked in brandy) – is said to be a throat soother and nervous system balancer. (Avoid peach bark if pregnant.)

Peach Essence Tea Benefits

All of these peach tea benefits can be gained by simply brewing a tea blend that boasts peach as an ingredient. Check out the Plum Deluxe Tranquil Peach Herbal Tea. Now here’s some goodness for you and your health! This is a wonderful combination of peach and chamomile, both known to be soothing health helpers.

Made with red and green rooibos teas as an earthy base, this tea is paired with peach and pineapple extras and topped with sprinklings of fresh chamomile, rose hips, and lemon verbena, all of which provide balancing benefits to the body and soul.

Peachy Antioxidant Benefits

Drinking black tea with peach provides excellent peach tea benefits. Antioxidants in the black tea can help rejuvenate skin and improve cardiac health. Peaches contain a good amount of calcium and fluoride and may help boost your metabolism. All of these peach tea benefits can be found in a simple and delicious mug of tea!

Sample the Plum Deluxe Peaches ‘n Cream Oolong tea to access these wonderful peach tea benefits. The base is a blend of both oolong and black teas, paired with peach pieces. It’s a simple, bold peach tea with gentle and thoughtful touches to create a palate-pleasing flavor, not too sweet but incredibly satisfying.

Peachy Keen Peach Tea

Finally, how about getting some of those peach tea benefits from an infusion of the fruit itself? Easily cook up your own peach simple syrup to use as a sweetener in your peach iced tea and then slice some fresh fruit to use as a garnish in your beverage. It's as easy as (peach) pie!

Peach Simple Syrup Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 peaches, thinly sliced and peeled

Directions:
Bring the sugar, water, and peaches to a boil in a small saucepan. Then lower the heat and stir to crush the peaches to infuse the flavor.
Once the sugar is dissolved, cover and remove from the heat, and let steep for 25-30 minutes.
Once your simple syrup is finished, strain into a bottle or container. You can reserve the peach pieces for use later as a topping – for example, over tea cake or ice cream – or cocktail ingredient.

Peach Tea with Peach Simple Syrup

To assemble your peach iced tea, brew a peach-flavored tea, such as the Plum Deluxe Afternoon High Tea, a white tea flavored with our fave fruit. Lightly caffeinated, it provides a healing boost of peach tea benefits.

Once you have your brewed tea (a cold brew would be nice here, too), serve it in a tall glass over ice and drizzle in your homemade peach simple syrup to taste. Use some fresh-sliced peaches as garnish, or some of your reserved peaches from the syrup recipe. Pop a peach leaf or a sprig of mint on top and you have yourself a delicious iced tea chock full of peach tea benefits!

A side of juicy, sun-warmed peaches or a mouth-watering Peach Cardamom Scone would make it a practically perfect peachy day.
