Rejuvenating Ginger Iced Tea Recipe

Rejuvenating Ginger Iced Tea Recipe
Craving something refreshing to lean into those summer vibes? Whether you’re preparing for a day of fun in the sun or stretching out in the shade, this rejuvenating ginger iced tea recipe will set the mood.
Ready, set, refresh!

When it comes to making a refreshing drink, nothing is as easy as cold brew tea. It is literally as simple as putting your tea leaves loose into a cup, filling it with water, and walking away for several hours. If you like your tea cold, be sure to stick it in the refrigerator before you walk away. And that’s it. Boom! End of article.
Just kidding.
If you’re short on time, there are quicker ways to brew up a nice iced tea, but if you can plan ahead, nothing beats cold brew for ease and depth of flavor. When the weather starts to heat up, I love prepping my favorite ice-friendly blends the night before and waking up to a perfectly cold-brewed cuppa. Letting the leaves steep slow and steady for hours in the fridge brings out a resounding richness of flavor that can’t be beat!
If you like to start your day with some zing or need an invigorating mid-day pick-me-up, ginger iced tea is just the thing—and Plum Deluxe’s Rejuvenation Blend makes one heck of a ginger iced tea!
The spice of ginger is accented by the brightness of lemon peel, sweetened with a sprinkling of apple pieces, grounded with a hint of licorice root, and softened with a whisper of rose petals. The result is a zesty, balanced brew with a lovely lingering ginger finish.

How to Make Ginger Iced Tea

In my search for the perfect refreshing beverage, I combined Rejuvenation Blend with a variety of add-ins. What I discovered was a host of delicious drinks, but in all honesty, if the goal is ginger iced tea, I found that nothing beats the original! The extra ingredients brought their own interesting elements to the brew, but tended to overpower the ginger. If you’re in it for the kick and heat of the ginger, use the add-ins sparingly!

Apple Ginger Iced Tea

If you like a little extra sweetness in your tea without adding sweeteners, popping a few pieces of apple in with your tea leaves will do the trick! The fruity addition will play up the natural flavors in the Rejuvenation blend and produce a sweet and satisfying cup. Throw in a few extra slices of fresh ginger root so you don’t lose that edge!

Lavender Ginger Iced Tea

If the delicacy of the rose petals in the Rejuvenation blend is what you love, lean into that floral euphoria by adding a dusting of lavender buds—fresh or dried—to the tea leaves in your cold brew. Lavender is a natural relaxant, which, when paired with the zip of lemon and ginger, leaves you with a sense of tranquil energy that is both soothing and revitalizing!

Citrus Ginger Iced Tea

For an extra burst of zippy citrus, try adding lemon or orange peel (or both!) to your cold brew. Use a potato peeler to gently remove strips of rind from the fruit—keeping in mind that you’re going for just the colorful outer rind, not the white pith, which will add bitterness. (Be sure to thoroughly wash your citrus or use organic fruit—the goal is to add flavor to your tea, not chemicals!)
Pop a few strips in with your loose leaf for a particularly refreshing ginger iced tea that pairs fabulously well with citrus cardamom grapefruit bread!

Mint Ginger Iced Tea

Mint is one of those herbs that both calms and stimulates the senses. Adding a few sprigs into your Rejuvenation blend overnight will yield a fragrant, flavorful tea any mint lover will be thrilled with. Cooling mint greets the palate upfront, and warming ginger provides body and depth. The notes are mellow yet robust—a perfect thirst-quencher to beat the summer heat!

Classic Ginger Iced Tea

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a no-fail ginger iced tea recipe, stick with the classic! Cold brew up a batch of Rejuvenation Blend and enjoy the incomparable kick of ginger that comes through with each sip. Feel free to throw in an extra half-inch or so of fresh ginger root or a teaspoon of Just Ginger herbal tea to supercharge the spice, but trust me, it comes through all on its own!
Once you’ve decided on your add-ins, (or lack thereof,) you can also play around with sweeteners. I personally like my teas straight-up, but I know many iced teas are traditionally served sweetened. (Here are twelve delicious examples!) You may find that your ginger iced tea benefits from a little honey dust or rock sugar. Mix and match until you find your sweet spot!
