Mulled Wine & Pizza Party with Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Mulled Wine & Pizza Party with Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Wine and pizza are a classic pairing, but as fall rolls in we thought it would be fun to kick it up a notch by combining homemade mulled wine and pizza to create a fun fall pizza party. It’s the perfect last-chance way to finish up the outdoor entertaining season.

With the beautiful fall colors all around, why not set up your party outside? Serving hot pizzas and warmed beverages is a great way to keep everyone warm and cozy while hanging out outside. Make the table even more inviting by adding warm blankets tossed over the chairs, pillows, and maybe even a cozy fire nearby.
Mulled wine is a classic infusion of spices and wine that is warmed and served. It has been a popular cool weather drink throughout Europe for centuries. Though it is typically made with red wine, feel free to try out your favorites with our selection of traditional mulling spices. To keep it nice and hot we suggest placing the warmed wine in a thermos or carafe. Serving it in mugs will also help retain the heat better than wine glasses -- as well as keeping your guests' hands warm while holding them.

Get everyone involved by letting your guests make their own pizza creations. Roll out single serving-sized doughs on cookie sheets and place a selection of toppings in bowls. Guests can add their own toppings while the oven preheats, and all you have to do as the host is pop them in to cook. Once they are done you can slide everyone’s individual pizza onto their own plates.
Have guests who are looking for a low carb or gluten free option? Try this amazing cauliflower crust pizza. It takes just a few extra minutes to pull together and tastes amazing.

Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Ingredients:
  • 1 head cauliflower, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the cauliflower into the bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely ground.
Transfer 2 cups of cauliflower to a microwave-safe bowl. Cover loosely and place into microwave for 4-5 minutes, or until softened; let cool completely.
Pour the cauliflower into a clean dishtowel and squeeze to release as much liquid as possible and then transfer to a large bowl.
Stir in eggs, mozzarella, Parmesan, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Spread cauliflower mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread the mixture until the thickness is about 1/2 inch. Place in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until slightly golden on top.
Add pizza toppings as desired and return to oven until cheese has melted and browned, about 12 to 15 minutes.
Serve immediately.
