What to Mix with Lemonade

What to Mix with Lemonade

Who doesn’t love a cup of ice-cold lemonade, with its perfect sweet and tart balance, to quench your thirst when you’re feeling oh-so-parched?

Lemonade is probably my number one pick for a summer drink, whether it be to enjoy a cold glass myself or serve up at a party, you can rest assured you’ll always make the right choice. Ever thought of meandering outside the world of just lemon? How about adding in some new flavors?

Wondering what to mix with lemonade? We’ve done just that — let’s dive in!

A Sweet and Sour History

Long adored, lemonade stands have been an American staple for as long as I can remember. If you visit a garage sale or your local fair, chances are you’ll come across one. We cannot resist the sweet release this drink brings us as we take our first sips!

An interesting fact: the first well-known lemonade stand was set up in the summer months in 1941 by a young lady. Unfortunately, this endeavor didn’t turn out so well for her. With polio being an adversary of the time, and a lack of thoroughly cleaning the glasses between uses, this little girl and several of her friends all contracted polio.

Prior to this time, there are few references throughout the 1800s, that make mention of what is believed to be the first of lemonade stands — one noted in 1839 at a ‘ladies fair.’ Add in several decades and we’ve revamped the beloved drink with some new flavor twists! Plum Deluxe created three lemonade variants to add to its repertoire: lavender, rose (pink), and classic lemonade. Mouth-watering goodness!

Lemonade Pairings

First up is our Lavender Lemonade Mix — which is mind-blowing! The delicate balance floral notes make for a cuppa-amazing all on their own. If you’re looking to mix it up (yes, pun intended), then I’d recommend adding in some vodka for an adult beverage. How about a few fresh blueberries for a non-alcoholic option? My advice is always to be creative!

Our Rose Lemonade Mix is probably my personal favorite of the three. I am a lover of all things rose-related, and this mix has captured my heart. I love adding in some raspberries to mirror the lovely pinks. If you’d like to try this sparkling, simply mix it with soda water or Perrier to give it that delightful effervescence.

The Old Fashioned Lemonade Mix with its natural lemon essence is divine just as is, for a classic go-to drink. However, it’s great to use when making an Arnold Palmer. My pick to whip one of these up is to use our Wildberry Refresher herbal tea. I’d also recommend this one with any of these above.

Looking for a few other ideas for an Arnold Palmer? How about adding in the Strawberry Immunity herbal tea with its sweet-tart balance. It’s a perfect complement to our lemonades! Another suggestion for what to mix with lemonade would be our Raspberry Revitalizer lemon mate tea. For a more traditional approach to an Arnold Palmer steep up some Porch Sippin’ Pecan black tea.

Get creative and let the (lemon) juices flow!
