Easy, Delicious Matcha Iced Tea Recipe

Easy, Delicious Matcha Iced Tea Recipe

It's hot out, and iced tea is a great way to cool down. But what about that hot matcha habit you started over the winter? The answer is easy: ice it! We'll show you how to stay cool and energized all summer long with this matcha iced tea recipe.

Blending Iced Matcha

While you can always start by making it the more traditional way, there are multiple simpler ways to mix up your iced green tea matcha. One of the easiest methods uses a blender instead of a whisk. Add matcha powder and cold water to your blender, then blend! Pour it over ice and enjoy immediately.
If you don’t have a blender or want to make iced matcha on the run, we love the Libre MatchaGo tea glass. Simply put your matcha green tea powder and cold water into the glass, screw the top on, and give in a hearty shake. The screen inside helps break up any clumps so your matcha blends smoothly.
You can achieve similar results with a blender ball jar or, barring any special equipment, toss your matcha, ice, and water into a Mason jar, screw on the lid, and shake it up. Add a little sugar if you like, too. Our Plum Deluxe matcha comes in several different flavors, including vanilla-blueberry and strawberry-guava -- perfect for a fun and refreshing drink.
Our frozen iced green tea matcha recipe, below, uses the blender for a quick, delicious beverage. Just place the ice into the blender along with the matcha green tea powder, add some sugar and milk, and you’ll be all set for cool summer sipping.

Frozen Iced Green Tea Matcha

  • 3 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 10-12 ice cubes
  • 4-5 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk

Place all ingredients in jar of blender. Use smoothie setting or blend on high until fully combined and ice is crushed.
