Where do you live?

I grew up in the midwest, mostly Ohio. We moved to south Florida after I graduated High school in 1974. My husband and I moved our little family up to northeastern Florida in 1991. I am now living my dream. We live on 5 acres of tucked up near the FL/GA line in a very rural area. Eighteen miles to the Winn Dixie and 40 miles to Publix, Southeners will know what that means. We raise 90% of our own meats, chicken, rabbit, beef and eggs. Not quite as self sufficient with our veggies, yet. But working on it.

What’s your favorite Plum Deluxe blend, and why?
I like lots of them, it is hard pick a favorite. I tend to like more pure tea without a lot of flavoring in it.

Do you have a tea-time recipe you can share with us?
My tea time recipe is to not really a recipe. My favorite way to enjoy my tea is out on our back porch in the mornings, reading my Bible and having a quite time. I love to listen to the birds and squirrels running up and down the pine trees. Watching the clouds and trees. It is a great way to start my day with nature and my Lord.

We’d love to see photos of your favorite tea ware! And/or, tell us a story.
I am a mug person. Don't give me a dainty tea cup. My son built me a nice shelf that displays some of my mugs and they are in easy reach for a nice cuppa. I also built a little tea caddy to hold most of my teas in little tins that I bought to fit. See the pictures, below.

Share a special tea memory or moment you’ve had.
This is a memory that got me to drinking tea. I can remember as a little girl, after dinner we kids were excused from the table and my mom would move down to sit next to dad and they would share a pot of loose leaf tea and talk over their days. Some nights I would ask if I could sit with them and have a cup of tea. I had forgotten that memory for a long time. Then my dad died six years ago and my mom came up to live with us, in her own mother-in-law apartment in the barn (it is really very nice). She is still drinking loose leaf tea. Since then I have been drinking more and more hot tea. I have always drunk unsweet iced tea.

What do you consider your top two greatest accomplishments in life so far?
That is an easy one it is my two sons Bobby and Dusty. My oldest is a firefighter in a nearby town. He and his wife are expecting their first children, yes children, she is pregnant with twins. My other son lives about six hours away in South Carolina; he is also married, going to school on the GI bill to get his masters in Divinity. But right now he is deployed with the South Carolina National Guard in Kuwait; he is a Black Hawk pilot. Not many people can say that they have grown up doing with they dreamed out as a child, but I can, and so can both of my sons.
