Springtime Journaling Prompts

Springtime Journaling Prompts

While there are no rules when it comes to journaling, we couldn't help but notice how much you enjoyed our previous feature: 4 Writing Prompts to Help You Live the Good Life.

Thus we continue our seasonal journaling prompts series, this time with a few conversation starters that center around the season of spring. Like our tea, they're paired perfectly with the season. Pour yourself a hot cuppa (perhaps a cup of Reading Nook Blend Tea) and let's journal.

Word Prompt: OPEN

I always start our journaling prompts out with a word prompt, giving you a lot of space to think and create. And that's exactly what this month's word prompt, Open, suggests. Spring is full of openings: we open our windows to let in fresh air, the flowers begin their process of opening up their buds, the skies above us open up to reveal blue... open, open, open.

What could be more open in your life this season? (Or alternatively, what is too open and needs to be pulled back a bit?)

I also encourage you to use this prompt as an opportunity to open your eyes to new journaling methods — maybe colored pens, water colors, calligraphy. Make that journal messy!

Question Prompt: How can I stretch — mentally, physically, spiritually?

When I think about spring, I picture expansion, literally and figuratively, as we awaken from the winter contraction. Things are warmer, which means the atoms are getting farther apart, if we want to get technical about it. But also this is a time to get out of the house and stretch our legs, or enjoy the lengthening days to get back into social engagements.

So, what kind of s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g do you need to be doing?

Question Prompt: Where could I make a fresh start?

Final thought for our springtime journaling prompts. It's a nice reminder that we don't have to stick to the calendar that's up on the wall. In that vein, I'd like for you to take some time now to consider what areas in your life could use a fresh start. No judgement, no feeling sorry for yourself. Just press the reset button! 'Tis the season.
