Rainy Day Journaling Prompts

It’s hard to think of a better pairing than a rainy day and some time reflecting inwardly in your journal. (Ok, maybe chocolate and caramel is an even better pairing, but you get the idea.)

Because of that, we thought we’d continue our journaling prompt series by doing a roundup of our favorite rainy day journaling prompts.

Whether it’s a steaming hot cup of our Rainy Day (Sweet ‘n Spicy Puerh) or something more mellow, like the Apricot/Lavender Vista Blend Herbal Tea, get the kettle on and open up a fresh blank page in your journal.

A red mug with white striped hearts sits on a windowsill with the words "Rainy Day Journaling Prompts"

If I washed away everything on the surface of my life, what I would see is…

Rain helps things grow. Too little isn’t good and too much isn’t good either. Draw three columns on your page and label them “Too Much,” “Too Little,” and “Just Enough.” Your prompt: What nourishes me is… Use the columns to explore where your self care regime is too much, not enough, and just right.

Things that make me feel cozy…

Fold a piece of your journaling paper in half to make two columns. Label the left column “rain” and then the right column “rainbow.” On the left, make a list of your worries, concerns, complaints. One per line. Then on the right side, think of something that’s good that resulted from each item that you’re grateful for. Maybe it’s just a lesson learn or a perspective gained. When there’s rain, there are beautiful rainbows.
