Lavender Tea Blends: What’s the Best Lavender Tea?

Lavender Tea Blends: What’s the Best Lavender Tea?
Lavender is dreamy, especially during hot, lazy months when it feels like these barefoot days might stretch on forever. More than just an olfactory delight, these blooms add something uniquely special to teas. The best lavender tea blends are hand-picked and lovingly combined with complimentary flavors.

Why Lavender Is Seldom Alone in Teas

As you might suspect, lavender’s taste can be as pungent as its scent. As with cilantro, some people find the taste of lavender to be soapy. It may seem like an overwhelming number of people share this experience, but they actually represent about four to fourteen percent of tasters.
What causes this reaction in some people? Well, you can blame a terpene called linalool. Whether it tastes like soap to you depends largely on your genetics and whether you have an olfactory receptor gene that is sensitive to the organic compounds responsible for the flavor. If cilantro tastes like soap to you, it’s almost a sure thing that lavender will, too. So how can we enjoy lavender teas? Lavender tea blends.

What’s the Best Lavender Tea?

The best lavender tea blends are those that help minimize any soapiness our drinkers may experience while taking full advantage of other flavors that lavender enhances. Our tea blends are hand-crafted for balance, so you get just the right amount of lavender flavor to tantalize your taste buds and allow you to enjoy the relaxing benefits of this wonderful herb.
I’ll let you decide what is the best lavender tea for you, but for my tastes, it's Lavender Daydream lavender mango white tea. I like to prepare it just as it says on the package and I take it plain. That might sound boring, but I promise you it isn’t; I don’t add sugar or cream because it truly needs no embellishment. Apricot, mango and peach essence, lemon verbena, orange peel, calendula, and rose petals combine to create the most beautiful scent. The taste is as good as the aroma. If they made tea perfume, it should smell like this tea. When I’m having the worst day, this is the tea I reach for. It reminds me that no matter how harsh the experiences of the day may be, there is still beauty in the world.
A delightful iced lavender tea is Vista Blend, a delicious honeybush tea with apricot & lavender. I like to make it boba-style with the large black tapioca pearls. You could cold-brew your tea, or simply brew and cool, then add sweetener and cream to your liking. Add your cooked tapioca pearls and you’ve made your very own boba tea drink!

The Benefits of Lavender

We’re not about to make any wild claims about lavender, though there are some rather nice benefits that can make you feel extra good about your relaxing cuppa. These delicate purple blooms are thought to aid in reducing stress, anxiety, mood swings, and depression. Lavender may increase deep, slow-wave sleep, which is the phase of sleep known to be restorative. Who doesn’t want more of that?
Research suggests that lavender may calm brain function by increasing feel-good dopamine while reducing the stress hormone known as cortisol. Lavender has an antispasmodic effect which may aid digestive ills like gas, bloating, and indigestion.
Lavender tea blends might be your best friend during cold and flu season where their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties get a chance to shine. They will be busy aiding your immune system and taking care of those pesky free radicals for you. As an anti-inflammatory, lavender may bring some mild relief for muscle and joint pain. This action may also help relax constricted airways.
Please keep in mind that sharing these benefits is not meant to diagnose or treat any illness. Lavender tea is not recommended for pregnant people or for children and teens who produce or take testosterone since it can increase the production of estrogen. If you are breastfeeding, you should talk to your doctor before partaking of lavender.
