Today’s recipe was brought to you by Kraft Recipe Makers.
I don’t know about you, but I love pizza, and I love experimenting with different toppings and flavor combinations. I also think, if you take the time to do something unique and interesting, pizza can be a great dinner party entree. Lots of people shy away from pizza for a dinner party setting, but with nice wine and good company, there’s nothing wrong with this Italian classic.
Today we’re using KRAFT’s new Recipe Makers product, which features not one but two sauce packets; their Chicken Bruschetta pack is supposed to be for pasta, but you can actually flip it and make it into an elegant party pleasing pizza.
This delicious recipe is packed full of flavor and worth taking your time to make something special – we’ve taken it to the next level by incorporating a bit of slow cooker action. It’s super simple, yet tastes like you bought it at your corner pizzeria manned by first generation Italians.
Slow Cooked Chicken Bruschetta Pizza
Slow Cooked Chicken:
- 2 Chicken Breast, Frozen
- 1 Kraft Recipe Makers Kit (Bruschetta packet)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Take your two frozen chicken breasts, place in your slow-cooker with the black pepper, cayenne pepper, and Italian seasonings, top with the bruschetta finishing sauce packet and cook on low for at least 6 hours. When the chicken is done cooking, shred with two forks.
- 1 store-bought pizza dough (or you can make your own)
- 1/2 Kraft Recipe Makers Kit (pesto/garlic packet)
- 1 cup shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup organic canned tomatoes (diced)
- 1 packet four cheese Italian shredded cheese
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
When preparing your pizza dough, make sure to place your store-bought pizza dough on a cutting board, allowing time to rise (at least 45 minutes).
TIP: In order to work your pizza dough into a nice oval, make an almost-closed fist and feed the dough over your fists, in a clockwise motion, taking care not to move too slow or too fast as you might poke a hole in your dough. Slow and steady will do the trick here.
After you’ve stretched your pizza dough to the size you want, spread half of the container of the pesto out onto your pizza dough, topping with cheese, chicken, and tomato. Dust your pizza with a little bit of parsley and bake for 15 minutes.
Wait one minute before cutting and serving.
In case you are a visual learner:
What’s nice about this recipe is you’ll have some chicken leftover and sauces after you are finished; you can use these to fix up some easy chicken sliders for the next day (since you’ll be beat after a dinner party!).
But you won’t likely have any leftover pizza – this creation is gorgeous!
