How to Throw a Back Porch Pizza Party

How to Throw a Back Porch Pizza Party
This feature was brought to you by Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads.
Who doesn’t love a good pizza party? This well-loved tradition is perfect for everything from large gatherings to intimate date nights. No pizza oven? No problem. We’ll get a little help from some yummy pre-made, stone oven-baked crusts.

Set the Scene

This is so not your college sorority pizza fest; you are classy and so is your pizza party. That means pulling out a festive table cloth and actual china -- no paper or plastic for you! Set the table ahead of time and don’t forget to decorate with candles and vases of fresh flowers. If your party is being held outdoors, string up some lights or lanterns for when it gets dark.
If you’ve got a big group coming over, go ahead and assign seats; cute, simple place cards are always a sweet touch anyway. And don’t forget to prep some appetizers! We think these gluten free arancini (Italian rice balls) would be the perfect complement to pizza.

Make It Special

You want to spend as much time with your guests as possible, and that means not slaving away in the kitchen all night. To make things simpler -- but no less tasty -- grab up some Stonefire Pizza Crusts. Your guests will love the thick and bready Artisan crust as well as the more traditional Thin crust, and you’ll enjoy not being elbows-deep in dough all evening.
Instead of simply throwing sauce and cheese onto a crust, give your pizza an extra special twist with fresh ingredients and flavors. Why not whip up a batch of pesto to take the place of your sauce? Throw some roasted peppers on top and you have a tantalizing combo! Or, pick up your favorite homemade tomato sauce from a local CSA and top with fresh mozzarella and herbs for farm-fresh flavor.
Put the final touches on your party menu with a nice, big pitcher of sangria and some greens on the side. We love parmesan peas or a salad tossed with balsamic vinaigrette.
