One Simple Trick to Create More Luck in Your Life

One Simple Trick to Create More Luck in Your Life
Do you wish you were more lucky? Who doesn't! Luck (or, synchronicity in some cases) is one of those things that makes life feel easier and makes the path ahead feel smoother.
I'm a firm believer that luck requires two ingredients: mindset and elbow grease. You need to put yourself into situations where luck can chance upon you, and you also need to believe that the universe can whip up some luck for you. One doesn't work without the other.
I'd like to share with you one simple trick I've found to help you create the mindset that luck can happen to you easily and often. It's something I learned from my friend Theresa Reed and it works.

Put Luck In Your Calendar

Yes, that's the trick. Schedule luck into your calendar. I mean it quite literally, open up your calendar or dayplanner, pick a day at random, and put a note on that day to remind you that on this day, you will be lucky.
Don't get into too much detail -- there's no need to pen a novel. In fact, the less the better. For example, here was a lucky day on my calender recently:

Did I get a delightfully good surprise that day? I did, actually. But, moreso I enjoyed the many times my eyes went across that calendar entry. When planning my week, I smiled, thinking, "yay, something great is going to happen on Thursday." The night before, reviewing my day ahead, I went to bed thinking, "OMGOSH I wonder what surprise is coming tomorrow, I can't wait!" And all day, I was geared and ready for good things to happen.
As I mentioned before, I do believe that to be lucky, you have to believe that you can be lucky, and you also need to place yourself into situations where luck can chance upon you. This "silly" little calendar game takes about 10 seconds to put into play, and starts to get you excited about lucky opportunities coming your way.
You can choose what you want your entries to be. Keep them simple and generic (after all, you don't want to close yourself off from any good, unexpected surprises) and spread them out so you always have something on the horizon to look forward to.

Does this guarantee that you'll encounter some luck on your scheduled day? No, of course not. But even when I don't find something lucky, I do find these days remind me of the small ways that I am already lucky and help me be more grateful for those things.
